Director of Annual Giving and Public Relations
Summary: Seeking a full-time professional reporting to the Vice President of Development and Marketing responsible for implementing strategic development and communication plans. This position involves interaction with various League audiences and requires strong presentation, interpersonal, writing, organizational skills. The Director of Annual Giving and Public Relations primary responsibility is the strategic execution and management of a comprehensive annual giving program, including the coordination and oversight of supporting communications. For public relations, this position is responsible for cultivating and maintaining positive media coverage for The League.
In addition, the Director will foster the growth of best practices in the supporting areas of gift processing, data management and donor relations as related to annual giving. The Director will have a keen appreciation for the foundation of annual giving as the enabling component of successful major and gift planning programs.
The Director will provide direction and long-range/short-range planning for all these areas in the context of growing the annual giving program while supporting the greater development and campaign goals of The League.
This position is available immediately and reports to the Vice President for Development and Marketing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Plan and execute written solicitations for annual fund, including Direct Mail and email campaigns.
• Use data mining to identify probable givers and best methods of engaging and soliciting them. Plan, develop and monitor annual giving budget and special events to support the strategy; ensure maximum cost-benefit ratio is achieved.
• Work collegially with Development Assistant in database management, reporting and analysis, and stewardship of annual giving donors.
• Manage fundraising, marketing, cultivation and recognition events. Facilitate volunteer leadership in annual giving activities and special events management.
• Oversee budget planning for relating annual giving activities
• Manage creation of print materials for the organization, including brochures, newsletters, annual reports, stewardship and annual campaign materials
• Manage the development, implementation, and coordination of internal and external public relations strategies, with the goal of gaining recognition in the media and promoting our services.
• Serve as main information source for all media contacts requesting data and insights
• Oversee and manage social media communications and website content

Qualification Requirements
• Excellent volunteer management skills and comfort level in working with high level constituents.
• Broad-based skills in all areas of development preferred, including annual, event management and direct mail.
• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and see projects through to a timely completion.
• Strong analytical and technological skills
Education and Experience
• Four-year degree preferably in communications, business or public relations
• Minimum four years of general fundraising, marketing experience with a solid understanding of fundraising principles and methodologies.
• Experience in budget planning and oversight
• General knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Experience with Donor Perfect database program (or similar)

Description: The Family Trainer is responsible for providing the case management and oversight of the IISS program for Autism Services and Programs participants. The Support Specialist will work with families and Support Counselors to meet the individual needs of the participants and provide family training as necessary.
Essential Duties & Responsiblities:
• Communicate with participants, families, professional staff and community members in a person-centered manner.
• Develop a positive working relationship with assigned participant(s), families and Support Counselors.
• Provide oversight to the Support Counselors, ensuring that proper therapeutic techniques are being used.
• Treat the participant’s goals as their own, working with the participant, family and professional staff to achieve goals.
• Assist families in developing techniques in working with their children.
• To coordinate and actively participant in both staff and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Work cooperatively with other Autism & Related Services staff to support participants.
• Facilitate building participant’s self-esteem through positive interactions.
• Be a resource via phone and email for Support Counselors.
• Communicate participant and programmatic needs with the Program Manager.
• Be knowledgeable and communicate effectively the individualized needs of assigned participant(s) within the program.
• Document participant(s) progress utilizing the ETO database system.
• Attend Bi-weekly Management meetings.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the VP, Autism Services and Programs.

Qualification Requirements:
• Access to a reliable automobile and a valid driver’s license with no more than 2 points.
• Ability to lift participants up to 150 lbs. in accordance with established safe lifting procedures.

Educational and/or Experience:
• Experience working with people with disabilities, specifically those with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• BS in Special Education with State of Maryland certification or MA in Psychology with LPC credentials or MSW with LSW credentials.

Description: The Therapeutic Integration Instructor works with a team of other Instructors and the Program Manager to run the Therapeutic Integration program at The League’s Cold Spring Lane location. The Therapeutic Integration program meets during the school year and follows the Baltimore City Public Schools calendar. Therapeutic Integration Instructors work with a case load of three participants with autism, assisting participants with personal care and facilitating programs in the areas of sports, cooking, swimming, arts and music. This is a part time.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop and facilitate lessons in assigned area (such as arts, sports, swimming, etc.).
• Assist assigned group of participants with personal care (dressing, toileting, eating, etc.).
• Accompany participants to scheduled programs.
• Work cooperatively with other TI staff to support participants.
• Facilitate building participant’s self-esteem through positive interactions.
• Plan and initiate age-appropriate free time activities.
• Communicate participant and programmatic needs with the Program Manager.
• Be knowledgeable and communicate effectively the individualized needs of all participants within the program.
• Document participant progress utilizing the ETO database system.
• Follow all agency and program specific policies and procedures.
• Assist in the supervision of EDS participants that are assigned to get job training in the TI program.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the TI Program Manager.
