Presented by HSKT Reneé A. DeLisle, LMT
National & MD State Licensed Massage Therapist
ABOUT HSKT
HSKT was the fledgling idea of Reneé DeLisle. Presently, it has blossomed into a flourishing massage therapy practice serving a wide range of clients, with plans of expansion to a small, full-service spa and salon.
"Before I became a massage therapy student, I knew I wanted to give back to what I had been; I wanted to help high school and college students because they had to carry so many books, " she says with a laugh. "Now as a practitioner, I can help them as well as so many others I encounter every day."
Many people may wonder if HSKT means anything. "It's an acronym for 'Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes!' I always thought it was a clever way to turn a favored childhood song into a business name," she says.
Reneé graduated from Medix Towson in April 2010, and is a Licensed Massage Therapist, as per the requirements set forth by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) and the Maryland State Board of Chiropractic & Massage Therapy Examiners. She currently practices at About Faces in Towson, and at Physical Therapy First in Roland Park.
Because every client has different needs for every session, each treatment regimen is unique to that client and their session goals. The use of Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy, and many other modalities individually and in combination achieve optimum results.
Feel free to send any questions or inquiries regarding her professional background, modalities provided, or treatment methods; all are welcome. Please call or email the Wellness Center for further information.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A SESSION
Paperwork & Check-In: Clients are encouraged to arrive before their session as each session begins with a health screen; new clients will be required to complete a full health history form, and returning clients will be asked to review and make any updates to their health history as necessary. Any clients with a disability must present a doctor’s note detailing the nature & extent of their disability that grants the client clearance to receive massage.
Client Intake & Assessment: Afterwards, the therapist will take the client back into the treatment room and ask them a series of questions designed to provide direction for the session. The therapist will then ask the client to undress to their level of comfort and lay on the table under the draping after the therapist leaves the room.
Treatment: When the client is ready, the therapist will re-enter the treatment room and provide service. It is important to note that the session is all about the client, so the client has full say regarding depth, pressure, temperature of the room, etc. If the client feels uncomfortable in any way, they should tell the therapist immediately.
End of Session & Scheduling: At the end of a session, the therapist will thank the client, ask them if they need any assistance getting dressed or getting off the table, request that the client meet them in the hallway outside the treatment area, and leave the client to redress. The client is encouraged to take a few moments to slowly and safely get up, but should keep in mind that there may be other clients behind them, and should not plan to linger over their treatment time. The therapist will meet the client in the hall with a bottle of water, and the client will be walked back to the reception desk where they will have the opportunity to book another session and evaluate their experience.
Gratuities: The best reward a therapist can receive is a satisfied client’s personal recommendation of our services to a friend. Gratuities are left to the discretion of the client, and are not included in the price of services. They can be left at the front desk in the provided envelopes.
