VOLUNTEER

We have a dedicated team of volunteers that contribute their time and talents to various programs at The League. We thrive on the compassionate service of our volunteers and we are always trying to recruit resourceful, energetic individuals and groups to help our clients meet their goals of independence. Since every League program has different needs, various types of volunteers are essential to keeping us running smoothly. Click on the links below to view the job descriptions for the volunteer positions we need to fill.

Volunteer Positions:

Other than weekly volunteer positions, there is also a need for volunteers that are available for special projects, like one-day events or office assistance. You can sign up with Emily Carmichael to be an on-call volunteer. Volunteer Program Mission Statement

Volunteers assume meaningful and productive roles in all levels of the organization and are valuable resources to The League, its staff and its clients. Volunteers are committed to the agency goals and have essential roles in promoting client self-determination.

Adult Medical Day Floor Volunteer

Adult Medical Day Floor Volunteers will provide persons with disabilities and/or seniors opportunities to achieve and maintain their independence to the fullest extent possible.Volunteers will establish and maintain a positive, professional relationship with clients and staff.

Essential Functions:

Adult Medical Day programs operate Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m..

Volunteers will create a schedule with their supervisor.

Qualifications:

Volunteers will finish a screening process including a criminal background check, drug screening, and interview(s).

Pool/Wellness Center Volunteer

Summary

Movement Management Volunteers will provide persons with disabilities the opportunity to achieve and maintain their independence to the fullest extent possible.Volunteers will establish and maintain a positive, professional relationship with clients and staff.

Essential Functions:

The League’s heated therapeutic swimming pool and adaptive devices for its use, wheelchairs, fitness equipment, canes and walkers comprise most of the equipment used. Training will address how to safely use them.

Movement Management Pool Volunteers will work during the scheduled pool sessions (i.e. Wednesdays 10 a.m.-12 noon).
