Camp Greentop is located on 200 beautiful acres in the Catoctin Mountain National Park, six miles west of Thurmont, Maryland. Camp Greentop is run by the Department of Camping and Therapeutic Recreation at The League for People with Disabilities in Baltimore, Maryland with the cooperation of the National Park Service.
Built in 1931 as part of FDR's new deal legislation, Camp Greentop was one of the first camps specially designed for people with disabilities. Camp Greentop is a rustic camp, rich with history.
Complete with paved accessible trails, campers are able to get from their cabins to program areas with ease. Camp Greentop's property includes a large dining hall and recreation hall, 12 cabins with comfort stations conveniently located, office, nature and craft huts and a large sports field we call the "Greentop."
In addition, Camp Greentop also houses a horse stable and riding ring built for President Reagan. This stable and riding ring is home to our Horseback Riding program.
