Weekend Respite (Drop off at Camp Round Meadow): Weekend Respite takes place at Camp Round Meadow located in the Catoctin Mountain State Park in Thurmont, MD. Check-in time is at 5:00pm on the Friday of the weekend in the Dining Hall. You can find directions to Camp Round Meadow below.
Weekend Respite (Using transportation from The League): If you sign-up in advance for round trip transportation from The League, check-in time is between 4:00 & 4:30pm on the Friday of the weekend. You can find directions to The League on our Contact page.
Winter Camp: PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR WINTER CAMP LOCATION HAS CHANGED FOR 2010. Winter Camp is taking place at YMCA Camp Letts in Edgewater, MD. Check-in time is between 4:00 & 4:30pm on December 28. The address for YMCA Camp Letts is 4003 Camp Letts Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Please go to mapquest.com to customize your driving directions.
All forms must be received by Camping & Therapeutic Recreation prior to arrival. This allows staff and nurses to prepare for the program.
All medical prescriptions must be in the original container. All medications should be packed separately and must be turned in to the nurse during the health screening. Please be sure the labels on ALL medications match what is written on the Pink Medication Form. If there are any changes please have a doctor’s order faxed or sent to Camping & Therapeutic Recreation.
Please assure that all of the participant's belongings are clearly labeled with their name. This includes all luggage, wheelchairs, pillows, etc. Please turn in your blue packing list upon arrival.
If the participant uses depends, wipes, ostomy bags, feminine pads, or any other supplies on a regular basis, please send enough for the entire stay, plus one day.
All equipment and appliances should be in good working order.
Weekend Respite (Pick up at Camp Round Meadow): Departure is on Sunday of the weekend at 2:30pm. If you would like to pick up your camper earlier, please speak with the Director to arrange a time.
Weekend Respite (Using transportation at The League): Pick-up at The League will be at 3:00pm. No alternate pick-up times can be arranged.
Winter Camp: Departure is on January 2 between 10am and 11am. If you would like to pick up your camper earlier, please speak with the Director to arrange a time.
From Washington DC take the George Washington Memorial Parkway north to I495 to I270 north 27 miles to Frederick, MD. Take Route 15 17 miles north to Thurmont, MD. Take Route 77 West, the exit sign is marked Catoctin Mountain Park. Travel approximately 6 miles west on 77 (you will pass Park Central Road and the park Visitor Center) and turn right onto Foxville-Deerfield Road. As the road forks, turn right onto Manahan Road. Continue approximately 3/4 mile and turn left into Camp Round Meadow. Park in the large gravel parking lot.
From Baltimore, MD take I695 beltway to I70 West to Frederick, MD. Take Route 15 North to Thurmont, MD. Take Route 77 West (the exit sign says Catoctin Mountain Park.) Travel approximately 6 miles west on 77 (you will pass Park Central Road and the park Visitor Center) and turn right onto Foxville-Deerfield Road. As the road forks, turn right onto Manahan Road. Continue approximately 3/4 mile and turn left into Camp Round Meadow. Park in the large gravel parking lot.
From Hagerstown, MD take I70 East to Route 66 North for 7 miles. Turn right onto Route 64 (East) for 1 mile then turn right at a traffic light onto Route 77 East for approximately 4 miles. Turn left onto Foxville-Deerfield Road. As the road forks, turn right onto Manahan Road. Continue approximately 3/4 mile and turn left into Camp Round Meadow. Park in the large gravel parking lot.
From Gettysburg, PA take Route 15 South. In Thurmont, MD, exit onto Route 77 West (the exit sign says Catoctin Mountain Park.) Travel approximately 6 miles west on 77 (you will pass Park Central Road and the park Visitor Center) and turn right onto Foxville-Deerfield Road. As the road forks, turn right onto Manahan Road.
