Melita Bell, Director, Camping & Recreation

Melita Bell started working at Camp Greentop during the summer of 2010, while pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.  After returning seasonally for many summers in various leadership roles and graduating from Bowie State University, Melita began full time with The League in the Manager of Camp Programs position.  She eventually took the experience she gained from working at Camp Greentop and became the Camp Director of the Y Camp in Greater Annapolis and Y Camp in Pasadena for multiple summers. Although she enjoyed her position, her passion was always with Camp Greentop, and she continued to work respite weekends and assisted travel trips throughout the years.  In September 2018, Melita transitioned back to The League and entered her current role as Director, Camping & Recreation.

Garrett Schatz, Manager, Camp & Travel Programs

Garrett began working at Camp Greentop during the summer of 2006. He has missed only one summer since then, and has held an array of positions throughout his time at Camp.  Throughout the rest of the year, he further developed his knowledge of working with special needs by providing 1:1 supports and job coaching through several different agencies. However, Garrett's love for Camp Greentop kept him coming back each summer and eventually earned him a leadership role.  Garrett joined Camping & Recreation’s full-time administrative team in the fall of 2015 as the Manager, Camp and Community Programs and has already proven himself and jumped in with fresh, new ideas for both travel and camp programming.

Brynna McMillan, RN, Manager, Health Services

Brynna earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2010 where she went on to work as an ICU nurse for almost 5 years through various staff and travel positions in North Carolina and New Mexico. In 2015, she had the joy of experiencing camp nursing for the first time at Camp Cobbosee, a sports camp in Maine, and has been drawn to the camp environment ever since as it provides a unique opportunity to combine her passion for helping others and her love of the outdoors.  Since that time, she’s had the opportunity to explore other camp nursing positions as well as varied career avenues from management positions with private healthcare practices, to nursing for an outdoor education program across New England, and even gained experience as an entrepreneur after opening a small yoga and healing arts studio in her hometown in North Carolina. Bry is well known by her community for her intuitive nurturing nature as well as her ability to cultivate a warm atmosphere within any environment. She is honored and beyond grateful for the opportunity to now serve our campers and families as a part of The League’s Camping & Recreation team.
