Human Resources Assistant

Position: Human Resources Assistant                      

Department:  Human Resources

Reports to:  V.P., Human Resources & Compliance

Status:  Full time, non-exempt


The Human Resources Assistant will support the Human Resources team; main responsibilities are maintaining employee data in database, recruitment support, updating staff training sites, applicant screening, assisting with onboarding of new employees and organizing employee appreciation activities. This position will ensure accurate and timely entry of employee information in our database, training software and be responsible for maintaining personnel files as required by company policy and government regulation.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As a key member of the Human Resources team, you must work effectively and objectively with all levels of management in all departments. 

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to accurately track and report on all applicant data and staff training requirements. 

  • Accurately communication information to support our current employees and when marketing The League to prospective applicants. 

  • Must maintain is high degree of confidentiality regarding employee and participant information. 

  • Ability to perform telephone, video and in-person interviews and reference checks to obtain important information on candidates needed to make appropriate job matches. 

  • Develop positive working relationships with staff, participants, vendors and partnering organizations. 

  • Accurately enter data, file documents in paper files and upload documents into database.


Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and participate in external and internal recruitment activities. 

  • Update and distribute Human Resource publications. 

  • Record and distribute minutes from various administrative meetings. 

  • Assist in planning and organizing employee engagement activities. 

  • Demonstrate the 5 Core Values of The League (Accountability, Participant Focus, Quality, Independence, and Mutual Respect). 

  • Operationalize the mission of The League for People with Disabilities by creating a supportive environment for participants and staff. 

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the V.P., Human Resources & Compliance.


Qualification Requirements:

  • The ability to work with diverse populations. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

  • Excellent organizational skills. 

  • Excellent computer, internet and Social Media skills. 

  • Associates Degree or equivalent coursework required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an administrative or human resources capacity preferred.
