Director, Medical Day Operations

Position: Director, Medical Day Operations                   

Department: Adult Medical Day Care

Reports to: VP, Medical Programs / Chief Nursing Officer                          

Exempt/Non Exempt: Exempt


Summary: The Director, Medical Day Operations is responsible for developing and coordinating services for League participants needing medical day care to improve their quality of life.  This position supervises all administrative and operational functions of the department and staff.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and modify quality assurance measures which will evaluate the effectiveness of the program, individual healthcare plans and interventions.

  • Ensure proper training and supervision of all staff and volunteers who provide services in the Medical Day Care programs.

  • Ensure that the Medical Day Care program complies with all government regulations under which it operates.

  • Educate community agencies on the goals of the program, target population and the services the program provides.

  • Assist with developing a realistic budget for which you will be held accountable throughout the fiscal year.

  • Market the program/services to potential customers, existing customers and referral sources.

  • Assist with obtaining funding for program expenses and requesting gifts from major funding sources.

  • Responsible for hiring, supervising and providing timely feedback to staff, as well as completing employee evaluations within the timeframe provided.


Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the VP, Medical Programs/CNO

  • Serve on administrative committees (Safety Committee, Internal Accountability Committee and others as assigned), as well as working with other departments for the enhancement of the agency and the overall improvement of services to all participants.

Qualification Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience in healthcare field working with people with disabilities.

  • At least 1 year supervisory and administrative experience.


Educational and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing and Recreation or related field.
