Wellness Center Desk Attendant

Department: Wellness Center

Reports to: Manager, Wellness Center

Exempt/Non Exempt: Part time, Non Exempt


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The “Wellness Center Desk Attendant” is a diverse and challenging position. To fulfill the mission of The League, the duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Receptionist – greet members & visitors and verify membership status

  • Membership/Class Registration – complete applications and contracts, and do any data entry needed and accept appropriate fees

  • Computer Work – update/design signs, flyers, class rosters, mailing lists, and other clerical work (see above re: Microsoft Office proficiency)

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness at information desk and check-in area.

  • Schedule appointments for fitness assessments, personal training and massage therapy as appropriate

  • Apply membership fees to the appropriate accounts

  • Cooperate with other departments of The League and work for the enhancement of the agency and the general improvement of services to all clients.

  • Advocate for The League and all people with disabilities.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager, Wellness Center

  • Demonstrate the 5 Core Values of The League (Accountability, Participant Focus, Quality, Independence and Mutual Respect.)

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a receptionist or related field.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills and ability to work with public.

  • Clerical and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.

  • Must have excellent telephone etiquette.

  • Neat & tidy penmanship requested.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, Publisher and Excel.

  • Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.

Educational and/or Experience:

  • CPR and First Aid (certificate on file with Manager, Wellness Center)

  • League-Specific In-Services:  Universal Precautions, Disability Training

  • Training on Jonas Fitness online management software

  • Training on PhoneTree online call database system
