Manager, Facilities

Summary:

Responsible for oversight of the total uninterrupted operation and condition of all League buildings, grounds and properties. Supervision and training of housekeeping, maintenance staff and Workforce Development trainees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and coordinates all the maintenance, custodial, grounds and support services for all League facilities. 

  • Performs routine mechanical/electrical repairs. 

  • Directly supervises housekeeping and maintenance staff. 

  • Prepares specifications for requisitions of equipment, tools, parts, supplies & controls spending according to budget. 

  • Reviews fire safety conditions and fire prevention program for buildings and grounds, conducting monthly drills. 

  • Oversees all construction, improvements, updates and repairs to facilities. 

  • Implements preventative maintenance program for equipment and buildings. 

  • Oversees system of dispensing supplies that leads to efficient but effective use of supplies and materials. 

  • Manages the security of the facilities, coordinating with vendors and staff. 

  • Maintains accurate inventories of supplies and equipment according to department budget. 

  • Works closely with contractors to ensure optimal operation of boilers, pumps and blowers. 

  • Oversee proper utilization of chemicals and equipment in accordance with established OSHA regulations and electrical and plumbing codes. 

  • Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are maintained on all chemical substances in accordance with the Right to Know Act. 

  • Works closely with Wellness manager to ensure safe and effective operation of pool and spa.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training for departmental staff and trainees. 

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the VP, Customer Relations and/or the CEO. 

  • Provides input regarding long-term capital project needs for facilities. 

  • Must consistently ensure a safe, clean and orderly operational facility in good repair, including all environmental and safety systems.

Qualification and Experience Requirements:

  • 10 years of related experience with at least 3 years supervisory experience. 

  • Hands on experience in 3 or more maintenance and/or building trades. 

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and auxiliary equipment including operation, maintenance, repair and controls. 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of building maintenance, practices and procedures including new installation, alteration, renovation and repair of building interior spaces. 

  • Thorough knowledge of electrical installations, controls, repairs and trouble shooting and familiar with National Electrical Code Requirements. 

  • Basic knowledge of commercial housekeeping principles, practices, procedures and equipment. 

  • General knowledge of plumbing and pool/spa operations (pool operator’s license preferred). 

  • General knowledge of hazardous substances and employee safety programs. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals, including persons with disabilities. 

  • Driver’s license with no more than 3 points on driving record.

Work Environment: Multiple indoor/outdoor environments with a variety of lighting and temperature conditions. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions. Lifting, bending, stooping and climbing of ladders on regular basis.
