Bookkeeper/Entry Level Accountant

Summary:  Manage financial bookkeeping and data entry of the organization which may include entries for payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and month end journal entries for the financial and accounting services for The League.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains The League’s official financial books and records, assuring all fiscal policies and procedures are in accordance with Standard Accounting practices.

  • Establishes and assures internal accounting and administrative fiscal controls are adhered to by The League administration and staff.

  • Prepares input journal entries for month-end

  • Prepares work papers and documentation and assists the auditors with the year-end audit.

  • Maintains and up-date accounting procedure manual.

  • Provides back-up for all aspects of payroll.

  • Records all transactions regarding Accounts Receivable.

  • Manage employee benefit program - 401K


Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with Sage 100 support to other departments.

  • Assists with document gathering for annual League audit.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the President/CEO and VP Finance

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Bookkeeping/Accounting, or 5 yrs. of similar experience preferred.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting and standard accounting principles.

  • Experience working with computerized accounting systems, preferably Sage 100.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Must be organized and pay attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Use discretion, maintain customer confidentiality, and be honest.

  • Must have good communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Be flexible and demonstrate sound work ethics.
