Position: Vice President, Workforce & Community Integration

Summary:

The Vice President, Workforce & Community Integration is responsible for the coordination of all of The League’s Developmental Disabilities and Workforce Development services for adults and children with disabilities. The VP will provide effective leadership, staff development, program enhancement, marketing, and overall operational oversight to ensure that the departments meet and/or exceed regulatory and accreditation standards.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and provide ongoing supervision to the Managers/Directors overseeing DDA funded services (Day Habilitation, Supported Employment, Personal Supports, etc.) and Workforce Development services (DORS and grant funded).

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to all DDA, COMAR, CARF, DORS, and League regulations, standards and policies.

  • Prepare and monitor/manage the DDA and Workforce Development budgets, gaining proper administrative approval for all expenditures.

  • Develop and coordinate ongoing professional development opportunities for Managers/Directors and staff; to include ensuring that all new hires and staff complete required trainings within the mandated time frames.

  • Network, communicate, and attend relevant trainings and meetings with DDA, DORS, Coordinators of Community Services (CCS), local school systems and other funders/referral sources.

  • Establish relationships and build rapport with participants, their family/guardians, and other pertinent team members.

  • Ensure all required reports and funding plans are filed with DDA, DORS, Coordinators of Community Services (CCS), etc.

  • Work collaboratively with other member of management and staff to ensure consistency between programs.

  • Assist Managers/Directors in recruiting and hiring staff as needed.

  • Ensure timely completion of evaluations of all department staff.

  • Assist in creating a progressive, safe and culturally competent workplace.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a focus on “Employment First” and utilize best practices and proven strategies to increase the number of participants in competitive integrated employment.

  • Fully participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.

  • Operationalize the mission of The League for People with Disabilities by creating a supportive environment for participants, families and staff.

  • Remain available via cell phone for on-call/crisis situations.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the President/CEO.

 

Qualification Requirements:

  • Ability to lead teams toward excellence and achieve planned goals

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Exceptional organization and time management skills

  • The ability to attract and work with diverse populations

  • A clean driving record with no more than 3 points

 

Educational and/or Experience:

  • Prior experience working with people with significant barriers to employment and/or community engagement

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working within the disability services field

  • Bachelors Degree (Masters Preferred) in Human Services, Psychology, or a related field

  • Knowledge of DDA and/or DORS services and regulations strongly preferred
